I'll stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for next month's bout.

Former two-time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I will injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead attacked former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual face-off, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really proceeding.
